Avmax is pleased to announce the lease of MSN 15059, a CRJ900 aircraft, to Fly Baghdad for domestic operations within Iraq, marking a significant milestone for both Avmax and Fly Baghdad.
Steve Hankirk, Avmax CEO, expressed his satisfaction with the leasing agreement, stating, “We are pleased to lease our first CRJ900 to Fly Baghdad. This aligns with our strategy to grow our portfolio with younger, more fuel-efficient aircraft. It is also in line with our strategy to expand our customer footprint by introducing our first lessee in the Middle East.”
Scott Greig, Avmax Senior Vice President and Head of Avmax Aircraft Leasing, commended Fly Baghdad’s remarkable growth since its establishment in 2017. “We are pleased that they have selected Avmax Aircraft Leasing as they introduce larger regional jets into their fleet. We look forward to supporting them with their continued growth,” said Greig.
Basheer Al-Shabbani, CEO of Fly Baghdad, expressed his enthusiasm for the partnership with Avmax, stating, “We are excited to start this partnership with Avmax Aircraft Leasing. Avmax is unique in that they are a one-stop shop, offering leasing services, MRO capabilities, a spares division, and aviation insurance all under one roof. They have demonstrated a willingness to support our fleet growth, and we look forward to having them as a partner.”
This leasing agreement marks an important step forward for Fly Baghdad’s operations and the continued growth of Avmax’s influence in the Middle East.
